This year, we launched a new program, developed to inspire and foster entrepreneurial spirit within the next generation of business leaders, celebrating those who dare to think differently and innovate beyond traditional academic confines.
Matt and Hayley Coleborne, co-founders of the Growth Guru’s, developed the Emerging Entrepreneur Award, launching in a New South Wales school to aid in recognizing, and nurturing the unique entrepreneurial talents of its students, bringing a fresh perspective on how young people with a creative vision can further develop their ideas to exciting business ventures.

We were delighted that Till H. Gross, an entrepreneurial powerhouse who has co-founded brands including Altitude and Course Concierge, was able to travel from Los Angeles to share his journey and insights. Following his keynote speech, which emphasized the resilience and creativity at the heart of successful entrepreneurial ventures, many students came forward to discuss their unique business ideas, allowing them a welcoming forum to build on their aspirations; something often lost on the traditional schooling curriculum.
“It frustrates me to see entrepreneurship often portrayed in such a narrow and stereotypical manner, especially in education. The myth that entrepreneurs are born, not made, or that success only comes from starting tech giants, overlooks the diverse and accessible nature of entrepreneurial paths. This narrow view does a disservice to our students, stifling potential by not showcasing the wide array of opportunities that entrepreneurship encompasses across various industries and backgrounds.”

This launch will culminate with the presentation of the Emerging Entrepreneur award later in the year, following submissions from the students detailing their inspirations, challenges, and how they believe their skills will make a difference during their entrepreneurial career. The Growth Guru’s team will form a mentorship team to create unique strategies for their business ideas, and further nurture their talents as they leave school and begin on their career path.
We’re looking forward to the development of this program, creating a catalyst for growth, learning and inspiration over the duration of its 10 year implementation.
